One month ago, Environment Minister Rona Ambrose quietly hired a new chief of staff. And who was he? Someone wise and experienced in environmental matters?
Hardly - it was Darrel Reid, the former president of the Evangelical Christian organization "Focus on the Family Canada", where he served until 2004. Reid promoted conservative Christian family values while actively campaigning against issues such as divorce, abortion and same-sex relationships.
More recently, Reid served as Vice President Project Development for the Work Research Foundation, an organization with the stated mission to "influence people to a Christian view of work and public life."
If ever we doubted that the Harper Tories are a completely different breed than our former Progressive Conservatives, this move clears things up nicely.
Canadians put the Conservatives into power simply because they wanted a break from the Liberals. But surely we're all starting to wake up to just how fringe this CPC lot are. Canadians are not this regressive, and we will not stand for such a government for long.

How ironic is it that my first thought to your post was "Amen!"?
Wow, there's something that didn't get much media attention... Does he have ANY qualifications re;ated to the environment?!
